Process Of Aadhaar Pan Link Check Status Online

To check the status of your Aadhaar-PAN link, go to the Income Tax e-filing portal1 and do the following:

  1. Under the ‘Dashboard’ section of the homepage, select the ‘Link Aadhaar Status‘ option.
  2. In the appropriate fields, enter your PAN and Aadhaar number.
  3. Select the ‘View Link Aadhaar Status’ option.

What is the last date for PAN link in Aadhaar card 2023?

In 2023, the deadline for linking a PAN to an Aadhaar card is June 30, 2023. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline from March 31, 2023. Rs 1,000 penalty will be imposed if the PAN-Aadhaar linking is completed on or after July 1, 2022.

Before submitting your request for an Aadhaar-PAN linkage on the e-filing portal, it must be paid in a single challan. The PAN of taxpayers who have not linked their Aadhaar as required will become inactive on July 1, 2023.

During the time that PAN is inactive, the following consequences will occur: No refund shall be made against such PANs; no interest shall be payable on such refund during the period in which the PAN remains inoperative; and TDS and TCS shall be deducted/collected at the higher rate provided in the Act.

Pan Card Status Check by Aadhaar Number

You can check the status of your PAN card using your Aadhaar number by following the steps below:

1. Visit the Income Tax Department’s official website.
2. Select “Check Status/Download PAN” from the menu.
3. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar card number and double-check for accuracy.
4. Enter the Captcha code carefully and press the “Submit” button.

You can also check the status of your PAN/TAN application by visiting the TIN-NSDL website. To track the Aadhaar Pan Link Check Status of your application, you must first select the type of application and enter your acknowledgement number.

Why it’s important to link pan card with aadhar?

Is it mandatory to link Aadhaar with PAN for non taxpayers?

However, the Aadhaar-PAN linkage requirement does not apply to anyone who is: a resident of Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, or Meghalaya; a non-resident under the Income-tax Act of 1961; eighty years of age or older at any time during the previous year; or not a citizen of India.
